Three Forms of Butterfly

Three butterflies, three stages of expression: one in outline, one half-shaded, one in full black. Read together they trace a metamorphosis across the skin, a small visual essay on becoming. The progression gives this piece a story most single-butterfly designs do not have.

Size & Placement

Across the 4.3 x 7 inch sheet the trio can climb a forearm, trail along a collarbone, or arc across a shoulder blade. Space the three evenly and the metamorphosis reads at a glance; cluster them and it becomes a subtler puzzle.

Semi-Permanent Ink, No Needles

Each butterfly is semi-permanent ink: 24 hours to develop, up to 10 days of wear, then a clean fade. No needles at any point.
